Donate Materials: Materials or products are donated to schools.
Teacher Externship: Educators participate in a paid internship at a business.
Career Information: Supply information about career pathways and opportunities within your industry.
Tutoring: Tutor students in specific areas.
Mentor: One on one relationship between student and employee to assist in career exploration and job readiness.
E-mentoring: One to one mentoring with a student via internet.
Enrichment Activities: Employer participates in activities in classroom or at employer site to enhance regular curriculum.
Demonstrations: An employer shares knowledge in a particular field through hands on instruction.
Educator to Industry Tours: A group of educators spends time touring a local company business.
Industry to Education Tours: An employee speaks to a classroom on a variety of topics with relation to their career.
Speakers Bureau: The speakers bureau is a registry which lists people willing to share the industry with students and educators.
Equipment Loans: Businesses would loan equipment, i.e. digital camera, microscopes.
Mock Interviews: Employer would hold mock job interviews with students.
Organize Clubs: Assist students in organizing clubs based on career interests.
Service Learning: Assist students in providing service to their communities.
Entrepreurnership: Assist students in developing their own businesses.
Unpaid Work Experience: A limited term opportunity, longer than a job shadow for students to learn about a particular occupation.
Paid Work Experience: A competency-based, educational experience, which is paid, that occurs at the work site and is tied to student's curriculum.
Co-Op: Co-op experiences are paid and unpaid experiences that allow students to extend the classroom into a workplace setting.
Internship: Situations where students work for an employer for a specified period to learn about a particular industry or occupation.
Apprenticeship: An involved training investment for both the student and sponsor. Usually an extended training with a link to a post-secondary institution.
